Recipe: Potato Donuts

Breakfast and Brunch
POTATO DONUTS

1 1/2 cups sugar
6 eggs, beaten
1/3 cup shortening
2 cups mashed potatoes
5 1/2 cups flour
8 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. mace
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Cream together sugar, eggs, and shortening.

Stir mashed potatoes and creamed mixture together.

Combine dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixture. When mixed together well, refrigerate overnight.

Next morning, roll out, cut and fry.
