Recipe: College Menu Ideas

Misc.
Susan,
POPCORN!! Three min or less to munchieville. But I think you are looking for something more nutritious....

Try some of the Hot Chocolate or Mocha mixes from the Mix in a Jar Board. And don't forget Chai mixes.

Check the health food section of store and look for cup a soups, hot cereals and pilaf mixes.

Try the ethnic food sections for Microwave meals. I am partial to Thai and Japanese sauce and soup mixes.

I have dehydrated my own mushrooms, bell peppers and herbs to mix up into couscous pilafs for camping.

Couscous Pilaf
Use 1 c of raw couscous and 1-3/4 to 2 c water. Bring water to a boil, add couscous. Cover and let sit 15 to 20 min. I make it plain for breakfast and add dried fruit. For dinner I use a boulion cube and dried veggies.

Maybe instead of food items you could send them cooking utensils designed for the microwave- plate cover, steamer, covered dishes, and potholders!

Good luck,
Julie
