Recipe(tried): creamed chipped beef and toast

This is one of my kids favorite meals
4 tbsp. butter
4 tbsp. flour
2 cups hot milk
1 pkg. dried beef cut into strips ( such as Eckrich or Budding brand)
white pepper and salt to taste

in saucepan melt butter and stir in flour. Cook over med-low heat for about 2 minutes, until smooth, white paste. Add hot milk gradually and cook, stirring constantly for about 3-4 min. or until smooth and thickened. stir in beef. Season with salt and pepper. cook stirring constantly until heated through.
I like to fry some eggs. Put the eggs over toast and pour the beef gravy over the eggs. 4 servings
