Recipe(tried): Date-Nut Drops

Desserts - Cookies, Brownies, Bars
I hope this is what you're looking for. It's one of my favorites.

DATE-NUT DROPS

3 large egg whites
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cups confectioner's sugar
1 tablespoon flour
2 cups broken pecans
1 cup chopped dates
1 teaspoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Line a large cookie sheet with parchment or brown paper.

In mixer bowl, add salt to egg whites; beat to soft peaks. Sift the sugar with the flour; add, one tablespoon at a time, to the egg whites. Continue beating till very stiff.

Fold in nut meats, dates, and vanilla. Drop mixture by slightly rounded teaspoonfuls onto lined cookie sheet about an inch apart. Bake at 300 for 30 minutes, until colored very light beige. Can be decorated with colored sugar before baking, if desired.

Makes about 2 dozen
