Recipe: Deep Fried Coke (re: Bunnuelos using Coca Cola)

Try a Google search for "Fried Coke Recipe" and see if that's what you're seeking. Aside from the Coke, it appears to be the same as most bunuelos recipes. I hope this helps.

DEEP FRIED COKE

2 cups flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup coca cola*
2 eggs
canola oil, for frying
icing sugar, for sprinkling

Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

In another bowl, whisk together the coke and eggs; add to the dry ingredients and whisk until you have a smooth batter.
Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep, heavy pan until hot but not smoking.

Spoon the batter into a squeeze bottle or into a zip-lock baggie and snip off one corner; squeeze the batter into the hot oil. Cook until golden brown, then remove with a slotted spoon and transfer to paper towels to drain the excess fat.

Serve topped with coke syrup if you can find it, or chocolate syrup, whipped cream and a cherry.

*Or coke syrup if you can find it you'll need more like 1 1/2 cups, and omit the sugar.
