Q. I am looking for a recipe for edible glitter. It's made with gum arabic. - Rebeca Costillo, Victorville

A. "It is a million times easier to simply purchase edible glitter but for those who dare to try, here is a recipe." - Timm in Oregon.

Edible Glitter

Mix equal parts of gum arabic and water in a glass jar and let mixture set overnight. With a pastry brush, thinly apply the mixture to a very clean, slick, heat-proof glass surface, such as a Corning Ware dish, Pyrex heat-proof glass, etc..

Place a preheated 250F degree oven. When the mixture begins to curl up, in approximately 6 to 8 minutes, remove it from the oven and scrape onto wax paper. Crumble it to the desired size.

For colored glitter: Use paste food color to tint the mixture.
