When ever I have had a situation where the kids leave their swim trunks or towels in the hamper wet or in the beach bag and they have gotten that odor or any other situation that involves odor for that matter. I use good old baking soda. I have added vinegar as well if there are spots or a situation of mold. I had a water heater leak in my apartment that had leaked into the closet and got some things I had folded on the floor wet and damp on the bottom. This was not discovered for a while because the things in the closet were seasonal items. When I found it there were a few moldy looking places on it I used Vinegar in with the baking soda worked great. Same for towels that are left in the hamper when you tell kids over and over NOT to put them in there wet LOL
Just thought I would add this I have not had a lot of luck with the oxy Clean at all.
