I was making stromboli today with frozen bread dough and my daughter wanted some of my sticky buns for work..... this recipe is fabulous especially if you like extra sticky!!!!
Start by thawing two loaves (1 lb each) frozen bread dough. The dough needs to thaw but not rise.
Mix together in a saucepan:
1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
1 1/4 sticks (5/8 cup) butter
1 large pkg. (8-serving size) cook-and-serve (not instant) vanilla pudding mix (use dry)
3 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Heat all of the above until sugar melts and everything is incorporated; set aside.
Butter a 9x13-inch baking pan. Cut each loaf into 15 equal pieces. Place 15 pieces of the dough in pan. I do 3 rows of 5. Pour butter mixture over dough. Place the remaining 15 pieces on top of the dough and mixture, allow to rise.
Bake at 350 degrees F for approximately 20 minutes, keep an eye on them so they do not burn. Allow to sit in pan for 3-4 minutes before flipping on serving tray
ENJOY ENJOY these really are the best sticky buns ever. the people I work with demand I make them several times a month.
