Recipe(tried): Freezing Casseroles for Teresa, Ohio

Preserving - Other
Teresa,

I always make two of any casserole I make and freeze one for later. I will assemble it completely then wrap tightly with foil and freeze. Then when I am ready to eat it I will take it out of the freezer and start in a cold oven, baking at 25 degrees lower than normal for the recipe for about 10-15 minutes longer than the original time.

I have found that I can make better use of my freezer space, and my cookware by lining the inside of my casserole dish with foil, then spraying it with Pam. Then I put in the casserole, freeze and then take it all out. You can just plop out the frozen casserole and put it back in the freezer. That way you have your casserole dish to use anytime. This saves money as I am not buying aluminum freezer containers too.

Good luck to you and if you have any more questions let me know. Sorry I can't answer your pie question since I freeze everything but desserts!
