Unfortunately I am in the "I hate brussels sprouts" club. I usually just end up kind of shoving them around my plate, hoping the host or hostess won't notice!
Can you get fresh green beans where you live? I blanch them and refresh them in cold water and then saute them in butter with chopped thyme, salt and pepper until they are tender enough for my taste. People seem to love them.
