Hi Patty:-) I don't think that this recipe, that I found on the internet, is quite the one you are looking for. I suspect that you could garnish this with lettuce, sour cream etc. after removing it from the oven.
Frito Pie
Yield: 4 Servings
1 1/2 lb ground beef
1 chopped onion
1 green pepper
1/2 lb velveeta cheese
1 can chili beans
1 cantomato soup
1 jar taco sauce
1 small bag fritos
Brown hamburger, onion and green pepper; drain. Add 1/4 lb cheese.Stir until melted. Remove from stove. Add chili beans, soup, taco sauce and crushed Fritos. Put in 11 x13 pan. Top with remainder of cheese. Bake at 350 until cheese melts through. A package of chili mix or taco mix may be added for additional seasoning.
