Recipe(tried): Gain Gain Laundry Detergent

I have used Gain Laundry Detergent for years and was very happy with the fresh smell,---BUT----I had to go to another brand, because my towels after being wet and dried they developed a very sour smell. I thought my water was bad. My daughter had the same problem.
Has anyone else had that problem?
