Recipe: German Bread Balls (dumplings)

Side Dishes - Assorted
GERMAN BREAD BALLS (DUMPLINGS)

3 to 4 slices white bread
milk
1 medium-size onion, chopped
butter (to saute onion)
1 to 2 eggs
bread crumbs
boiling water

Place bread in a bowl; add a little milk and cover for a while. Saute chopped onion in butter. Add this to squeezed out bread. Add 1 or 2 eggs and some bread crumbs. Mix.

Make small balls. Roll in more bread crumbs and press them into the balls a little.

Place in boiling water; when balls rise to the top (after a few minutes), they are done.
