Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 stick butter, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup plus 2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Cream butter and sugars together in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla.

In a small bowl, combine the flour, salt, and soda. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mix until well blended. Mix in chips and nuts.

Drop dough by small ice cream scoops 3-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten each scoop with the back of a spoon so the cookie is 2-3-inches in diameter.

Bake at 350 until centers are still slightly soft to the touch, 11-14 minutes. Cool 5 minutes on the cookie sheet, then transfer to racks to cool completely.

Makes 12-15 big cookies
