GRAMMA CLARK'S PORK STEAK AND SCALLOPED POTATOES
This is the best good old home cooking! And easily doubled.
2 pork steaks
1 egg, beaten
flour
2 tbsp olive oil
6 large potatoes, sliced fairly thin
2 to 3 lbs sliced cheese (Depending on how cheesy you like it. My family loves it super cheesy so I use a 3 lb block of Velveeta but you can substitute the cheese of your choice. It's also good with a sharp cheddar.)
1 large can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 cup milk
2tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 13x9-inch glass baking dish with cooking spray.
Rinse pork steaks. Dredge in beaten egg and roll in flour. Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in skillet. brown pork steaks on both sides.
Layer the sliced potatoes with the cheese in the baking dish.
Mix the soup, milk, and Worcestershire sauce and pour about 3/4 of it over the potatoes and cheese.
After the pork steaks are browned, lay them on top of the potatoes and cover with the rest of the soup mix.
Cover with foil and bake at 350 for about 1 hour or until potatoes are tender.
You can also throw this in a crock pot and add the steaks later.
Servings: 2-4
