Haystack Onions
Sliced yellow onions
plain flour
Egg Batter:
1 quart milk
2 eggs beaten
1/2 cup sugar
Cut off the root end of the raw onion, then peel away the skin. Slice in whole round slices and separate into rings. Discard the top end of the raw onion.
Soak onion rings in egg batter, remove and shake off excess liquid.
Dredge in flour until rings are completely covered. Remove from flour and shake off excess. Stack onion rings in fry basket to shape a hay stack.
Fry for 2 1/2 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve with BBQ Sauce
