Recipe(tried): Heritage Lace Sweatshirts

Misc.

I'm finally getting around to posting the directions for these sweatshirts I had so much luck selling at the craft bazaar. Sorry it's taken so long to get to it. they're easy to make, but a bit expensive, initially. Wear a colored underneath to put color in the design.
You will need: X Large-white sweatshirt-washed and dried
A white lace doily or placemat(I used a placemat. The design of a victorian house or cottage. It had one, small, colorful design of a snowman, chr.tree, or wreath, satin stiched into it)I pd. 6,7&8 dollars for these
Needle and white thread, scissors
Marking pen used for sewing, that disappears after 1hr.
5/8" Stitch witchery(fusible bonding web)
Warm iron
I layed the placemat on the front of the shirt, face up, and traced it. Make sure the shirt flat. Removed the placemat, took the shirt to the sewing machine and did a "M" stitch or searging stitch 3/4" inside the trace line.
Then, lay the shirt flat again, put the design back on to fit the tracing.
Put the fusible web around and under the edge of the design, (follow manufactures direct. for fusing web)
After it's cool, sew the design to the shirt along the edge. This can be done either by hand or on the sewing machine. The machine is faster, but there's alot of turning and manuvering of the shirt.
Turn the shirt inside out, lift the shirt material away from the lace material and holding up on it, make a cut in the sweatshirt. Cut to the inside of the "M" stitching all the way around.
Turn shirt right side out, your finished!
I sold these for $25.00
