Recipe(tried): Snickerdoodles

Desserts - Cookies, Brownies, Bars
I have made this recipe, which comes from a Better Homes and Gardens Homemade Cookies cookbook, for many years with great results. The recipe makes a large batch.

SNICKERDOODLES

1 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 3/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon salt
Cinnamon-sugar

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease baking sheets.

In mixing bowl cream butter or margarine and sugar till light and fluffy.

Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Blend in milk and vanilla.

Thoroughly stir together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt; stir into creamed mixture.

Form dough into 1-inch balls. Roll them in cinnamon-sugar. Place balls 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets. Lightly flatten balls with the bottom of a glass dipped in cinnamon-sugar.

Bake till done, 10 to 12 minutes.

Makes about 8 dozen.
