Recipe: Holiday Fruit Cookies

HOLIDAY FRUIT COOKIES

3 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 c. margarine, softened
2 eggs
1/2 c. sour milk or buttermilk
2 c. cut-up dates
2 c. candied fruit (I use cherries and pineapple), cut up
1 1/2 c. broken pecans

Sift flour, baking soda, and salt together; set aside.

Mix well the sugar, margarine, and eggs. Stir in milk add combined dry ingredients. Mix in fruits and pecans. Drop by teaspoon on greased baking sheet - 2 inches apart.

Bake 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees F.
