Recipe: Home Made Butter Spread
Misc. We got tired of the soft oleo-type spreads on the market so I found this recipe. It has the taste of butter but with the addition of oil and water, it cuts makes it a nice soft spread and less cholesterol. I pour it into small containers and freeze.
Home Made Butter Spread
1 pound unsalted butter-room temperature
1 cup vegetable or canola oil
1 cup room temperature water
1 teaspoon salt-or to taste
Put the butter in the food processor to chop up a bit. Slowly pour in the oil until absorbed, then slowly add the water and salt. Process until smooth.
Pour into small containers and freeze or refrigerate. BE SURE ALL INGREDIENTS ARE ROOM TEMPERATURE.
