Recipe: Home Made Spaghetti Saurce

I make it with canned tomato stuff. My Hubby won't let me use canned stuff so I cook a huge batch and freeze it in 1 quart freezer bags.
1 can stewed or diced seasoned italian tomatos
4 cans tomato sauce
1 can tomato paste ( this will vary depending on the consistancy you want)
1/2-1 cup red wine ( I use "Bob's Really Good Red Table Wine" But any favorite red will do
1 tsp garlic powder OR 1 tsp crushed garlic cooked with mushrooms
1 tbsp basil
1/2 tsp onion powder or if you like onion, saute some onion up
1lb browned ground beef OR SAUSAGE OR A COMBO
1 tsp italian seasoning or oregano
salt to tast
8 oz sliced sauted mushrooms or two cans mushrooms, drained
put all ingredients in a pot, bring to boil and reduce heat to simmer, covered, for 2-3 hours, check every hour and add seasonings as you need to taste.
If you like it spicy, add some white pepper, cajun spice or tabasco A LITTLE AT A TIME. Basil makes it sweeter and its nice to add heavy cream and alfredo for another variation
