Recipe: Hot Chipped Beef Dip

Appetizers and Snacks
Hot Chipped Beef Dip
Newsgroup: rec.food.cooking/Nancy Dooley
Makes 2 cups

My personal favorite (well, one of them anyway):

1 (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
3/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 (4 oz.) pkg. dried chipped beef (buy the good stuff)
2 tbsp. milk
2 tbsp. chopped green pepper
1 bunch green onions, chopped
1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Combine all ingredients in crockpot. Cook on low until heated through. Serve hot with crackers like Triscuits, Sociables or Wheat thins (or similar).

For a party appetizer, I heat this all together on top the stove and then put it in the crockpot to keep it warm.
