Recipe(tried): Kitty Litter Cake

Misc.
Julee,
Presentation is a must, I suggest you buy an inexpensive Kitty Litter
pan and pooper scooper, they really add something, my son who is 15 always
likes to take this when he has to take a dish to pass for the kids.
KITTY LITTER CAKE
1 package spice cake mix
1 package white cake mix
1 package white sandwich cookies
green food coloring
12 small Tootsie rolls
1 box vanilla pudding mix(not instant)

Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions on box. Prepare
pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble. Crumble white sandwich
cookies in small batches in blender; they tend to stick so scrape often.
Set aside all but about 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few
drops of green food coloring and mix using a fork.

When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl. Toss
with half of the remaining cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding. Gently combine. Put mixture into a new, clean kitter litter box. Put three
unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft and
pliable. Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly. Repeat
with three more Tootsie rolls and bury in mixture. Sprinkle the other
half of the cookie crumbs over top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs
lightly over the top; this is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in
kitty litter. Heat remaining Tootsie Rolls, three at a time in a microwave
oven until almost melted. Scrape them on top of cake and sprinkle with
cookie crumbs. Serve with a pooper scooper.

***Caution--This is not a recipe for the faint of heart, it really looks
like kitty litter and its contents. But it does taste pretty good and
it really goes together pretty quickly.

Believe it or not this always get top money at bake sales, I think its
just the novelty of it. If you need any other help my e-mail is
