Recipe: Ladle It On Lasagna (no-bake, layered on serving plates)

LADLE IT ON LASAGNA

12 ounces uncooked pasta (your choice of shape)
FOR THE SAUCE:
1 large onion, chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
2 teaspoons garlic, minced
1 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon oregano
FOR TOPPING:
3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 1/4 cups ricotta cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese

Cook pasta according to package directions; drain.

Saute onion in oil until soft. Add tomatoes, garlic, basil, oregano. Bring to a simmer and cook uncovered 7 to 8 minutes. Remove from heat and add Parmesan cheese.

TO SERVE:
Spoon hot pasta onto plates, top with about 3/4 cup sauce, 1/4 cup ricotta cheese and 1 1/2 tablespoons mozzarella cheese. Serve immediately.

Makes 5 servings
