Mama's Hot Rolls

2 large eggs -- beaten
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup boiling water
1 cup shortening
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 packages yeast
6 cups flour
Combine sugar and shortening.
Add boiling water (let sugar dissolve and cool).
Add eggs and yeast stir mixture.
Add flour and salt. Stir well and place in a covered bowl for at least 5 hours or overnight in the frig.
Remove from bowl after at least 5 hours-knead dough and form rolls.
Place in greased pan and let rise again.
**To make in the bread machine:
Put shortening and sugar in the bread machine.
Pour in the boiling water. Let sit until some of shortening is melted. Check temperature 100-110 degrees.
Add other ingredients. Mix on dough cycle. Make into rolls.
Bake 15-20 minutes or until brown.
Brush with lots of butter.
Notes: Mama always made these rolls. We didn't have the recipe for years. Mom got it from Sara 1998. Sara had stayed with mama when she was sick and had the recipe.
