Recipe: McFarlain's Honey Corn Bread

This is the recipe direct from the McFarlain's cookbook which I bought at their restaurant in Branson.

MCFARLAIN'S HONEY CORNBREAD

2/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup margarine, softened
4 eggs
1/2 cup honey
2 1/3 cup flour
1/2 cup corn meal
1 1/2 Tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/3 cup milk

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Cream sugar, margarine, eggs, and honey together.

Mix together dry ingredients. Alternate add dry ingredients and milk to the sugar mixture, batter will be lumpy, DO NOT OVER MIX. Pour batter in greased baking pan (11x14-inches).

Bake for 35 minutes or until golden brown.

Serves up to 10.
