Recipe: Mock Mince Pie (using cranberries, raisins, apple, Oster blender recipe, 1950's)

1/2 cup nutmeats
1/2 cup raisins
1 cup raw cranberries
2 apples, cored and cut into eighths, seeds removed
1 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup boiling water
Pastry for 1 (9-inch, double crust) pie
Put nuts and raisins in the blender container. Cover, turn the switch to Hi speed and off, to chop the ingredients. Repeat the process until all are chopped. Use a rubber spatula to push the ingredients down from the sides of the container to the processing blades. Empty the contents of the container into a bowl.
Chop the cranberries, 1 cupful at a time, using the same method. Add to the nuts and raisins.
Chop the pieces of one apple at a time and add to other ingredients.
Add dry ingredients and mix well. Add the 1/4 cup boiling water last. Put in an unbaked pie shell and dot with butter. Cover with top crust or lattice crust.
Bake at 450 degrees F for 15 minutes, lower temperature to 375 degrees and continue baking 25 minutes.
Makes 1 (9-inch) pie
