MOLASSES BAKED BEANS
4 cans (1 lb. each) pork & beans
1 (1 lb.) can diced tomatoes, drained
1 cup butter or margarine, melted
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup molasses
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon liquid smoke or barbecue sauce
salt to taste
Mix all ingredients together.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
My husband and son-in-law like this baked bean dish very much. Found the recipe in a 2001 food magazine. Prepared this dish several times in the past years. I add the barbecue sauce and bake until the liquid is pretty well gone. We like our beans without all the liquid. Enjoy!
