Recipe(tried): Muffelatta Sandwich/w/olive salad

This is as close to Progress Grocery Muff as I can come.

Use a round Italian loaf of bread. Slice and remove part of the bread and spread with good quality olive oil. Layer on at least three different types of meat and two different types of cheese. Choose from thing like Salami,mortadella,several types of ham,GOOD bologna, provalone cheese,swiss,parmesan, or any other type of spicy meat or cheese. Layer it until it is quite thick. Wrap in foil and heat in oven for 20-30 minutes and remove from oven add olive salad and cut in 1/4 portions and serve with a good cold beer. With or without alcohol!!

Italian Olive Salad mix

1 large jar salad olives
1 large can black olives (or use kalamata olives from deli)
1 jar mairnated artichoke hearts
1 jar capers
1/2 bunch celery- chopped with leaves
1/2 cup chopped fresh Italian parsely
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tbs. dried oregano
1/2 cup olive oil

Coarsly chop all ingredients and combine. Let sit at least a day or two
for flavors to combine. Will last several weeks in the refrigerator. Add
large spoonfuls to green salad, or use on sandwiches like the muffelata.
