Recipe: Old Fashioned Root Beer Floats

Beverages
OLD FASHIONED ROOT BEER FLOATS

1 pint vanilla bean ice cream
2 quarts root beer

Hang a large, well-packed scoop of vanilla ice cream on the edge of each of 4 fountain glasses or other tall drinking glasses. Fill the glasses 3/4 full with root beer.

Set the fountain glasses on a salad plate lined with a doily. Serve floats with straws and parfait spoons.

When you are ready to enjoy the floats, knock the ice cream into the root beer and watch it fizz up as the ice cream floats.

Makes 4 servings
