CHICKEN AND WILD RICE SOUP
Source: Mom's Favorite Recipes: What Mom's are Making Every Day From Across America (Gooseberry Patch)
A thoughtful friend always brought our family this after birth of each of our children. We loved it so much that finally, after my third child I asked for the recipe! - Julia List; Lincoln, Nebraska
2 cups cooked chicken, diced
2 cans (10 3/4 oz. each) condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 (14 1/2 oz.) can chicken broth
1 (10-3/4 oz.) can condensed cream of celery soup
1 (6 oz.) box long-gram wild rice, cooked
1 (4 oz.) pkg. sliced mushrooms
1 carrot, shredded
2 Tbsp. sherry (optional)
1 pint half-and-half
Combine all ingredients except half-and-half in a large stockpot; heat until vegetables are tender.
Reduce heat to low; gradually stir in half-and-half, heating thoroughly without boiling, about 30 minutes. Stir often.
Servings: 6
