Recipe: Ooey Gooey Squares (using cake mix)

OOEY GOOEY SQUARES

1 (18.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix
1/2 cup margarine, melted
1 large egg
1 tablespoon water
1 (8 ounce) package fat free cream cheese, softened
1 (16 ounce) box confectioners' sugar
2 large egg whites
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a 13x9x2-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray and dust with flour.

In a mixing bowl, beat together the cake mix, margarine, egg, and water until well mixed. Spread the batter into the bottom of the prepared pan.

In a mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese, confectioners' sugar, egg whites, and vanilla. Stir in the chocolate chips. Pour this mixture over the batter in the pan.

Bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

Makes 48 squares
