PEANUT PIE
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups corn syrup
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup salted peanut halves
1 unbaked (9 inch) pie shell
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Combine sugar, corn syrup, butter or margarine, and salt and bring to boil over low heat. Pour the syrup mixture slowly over eggs, stirring constantly. Add vanilla and peanuts and pour into the pie shell.
Bake at 375 degrees F. (moderate oven) 40 to 50 minutes or until the filling is set and nuts browned.
