Recipe: Pizza Burgers (using ground beef and Spam, freeze ahead)

PIZZA BURGERS

1 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. ground Spam
1 tsp. ground sage
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup spaghetti sauce
1/2 cup grated cheese (Colby, Mozzarella or Monterey Jack, or mix all three)
Chopped fresh parsley
12 to 18 hamburger buns

Brown ground beef and stir until crumbly. Cool.

Add remaining ingredients, except for hamburger buns; stir together. Spoon meat mixture onto each half of open hamburger buns.

Bake at 425 degrees F for 12 to 15 minutes.

TO FREEZE AHEAD:
Freeze unbaked. To serve, thaw and bake.

Makes 12 to 18 servings (2 to 3 each)
