PRALINE PECAN FILLING
1/2 cup butter or margarine, room temperature
1 cup brown sugar, packed
dash of salt
1/2 cup evaporated milk
2 cups confectioners' (powdered) sugar, sifted
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Melt butter in a medium saucepan. Add brown sugar and salt. Bring to a boil and let boil 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
Stir in milk. Bring mixture to a boil and let boil 2 minutes or until 232 degrees F. Remove praline mixture from heat. Cool to lukewarm.
Stir in confectioners' sugar and vanilla. Beat with a wooden spoon until mixture is smooth.
