Breads - Bread Machine
Basic White Bread
Source: Proctor-Silex Bread Machine Manual
Makes one (2lb) loaf

1 1/3 cups of water
3 tbsp. skim powdered milk
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. shortening
3 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. bread machine yeast

Measure ingredients into Bread Pan in order listed. Make a well in flour for yeast to keep it from getting wet.

Insert bread Pan into Bread Maker with "front" label of pan centered, push down to fully engage.

Select cycle (this one is "setting 3", for 2 lbs of bread). Press "start".

When signal sounds and panel reads "end", press and hold "stop" until signal sounds.

Using oven mitts, remove Bread Pan from Machine. Remove loaf from Pan immediately. Cool on rack before serving.
