Recipe: Puffed Rice Balls

Desserts - Candy, Chocolate
PUFFED RICE BALLS

2 cups sugar
2 cups dark Karo corn syrup
1/2 cup water
4 Tbsp. vinegar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. margarine
2 bags Puffed Rice, poured into large container

Mix in saucepan sugar, Karo, water and vinegar. Boil until it reaches hard boil stage. Be careful that it doesn't boil over.

Remove from heat and add vanilla and margarine. Pour hot liquid over Puffed Rice. Stir quickly until coated.

Shape into balls and let cool. Be careful not to burn your hands. Dampen hands slightly in a bowl of water. Keeps the balls from sticking while shaping.
