Recipe: Pumpkin Cookies

PUMPKIN COOKIES

1 1/2 c sugar
1/2 c shortening
1 egg
1 1/3 c mashed cooked pumpkin
1 3/4 c flour
4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 c raisins
1/2 c chopped walnuts
1 c whole bran

preheat to 375. cream together sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. beat in the egg; then beat in the pumpkin.
sift together the flour, baking powder, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and cinnamon. add to the batter. stir in the raisins, walnuts and the bran. drop by tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheets - space about 2 inches apart. bake for 18 to 20 min or until golden. makes about 4 dozen.

I have not tried these. If I find the recipe I've used, I will post it.
