Misc.

EASY BEEF BORSCHT
1 1/2 qts. water (approximately) 1 onion, chopped 1 or 2 bay leaves Salt and vinegar to taste 3 or 4 tbsp. flour 2 or 3 tbsp. sugar (optional) 1 pt. sweet cream (more if desired) Bring to boil; water, onion, bay leaves, salt and vinegar. Then let simmer for several minutes. Mix flour with cold water until smooth (no lumps) and add this to the boiling water. Then add sliced beets and boil for about 2 minutes (if boiled too long, beets turn light in color). Let cool, then add sweet cream.
