Recipe(tried): Re: Cottage Pie (really easy)

Misc.

This is from The Mr. Food Cookbook. I make it whenever I have leftover mashed potatoes and need a quick dinner. All you do is brown 1 to 1.5 lbs. of ground beef or turkey with about a cup of onion and some salt, pepper, and whatever other seasonings you like. (He suggests savory, 1/4 tsp.) Then you stir in a can of brown/beef gravy (8 oz.) or a cup of leftover gravy; heat till bubbly. Put the meat in a greased 2 qt. casserole, spread mashed potatoes on top (about 2 cups) and dot with butter. I usually sprinkle paprika on top to make it pretty. (: Bake at 400 for 15-20 mins., just enough to brown it. This is great on a weeknight, served with a vegetable or salad.
