Recipe: Ribbon Squares (Jello) - June, I just found another recipe.

Desserts - Puddings, Gelatin
I took another look through the books and found this, which does appear in the picture to have a white looking layer. I see no reason why it couldn't be made in a jello mold rather than in a square pan. It would look a lot more elegant, than cut into squares.

RIBBON SQUARES

1 pkg lemon, 1 pkg cherry, strawberry or raspberry and 1 pkg lime jellos.
3 cups boiling water
8oz. philadelphia cream cheese, softened
8 1/4 oz. can crushed pineapple in syrup, undrained.
1 cup thawed cool whip
1/2 cup miracle whip
1 1/2 cups cold water
Canned pineapple slices, optional
Celery leaves, optional

Dissolve each flavor of jello in separate bowls, using 1 cup of the boiling water for each.

Blend lemon jello into cream cheese, beating until smooth. Add crushed pineapple with syrup. Chill until slightly thickened, stir in cool whip and miracle whip.Chill until thickened.

Stir 3/4 cup of the cold water into red jello, pour into 9 inch square pan. Chill until set but not firm.
Stir 3/4 cup cold water into lime jello and chill until slightly thickened.

Spoon lemon mixture over red gelatin in pan.

Chill till set but not firm.

Top with lime gelatin. Chill till firm.About 4 hours or overnight. Unmold, cut into squares. Garnish with pineapple slices and celery leaves, if desired. Makes 12 servings.
