Recipe: Rum Cake (using cake mix)

Desserts - Cakes
RUM CAKE

2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
1 (2 layer size) package yellow cake mix
1 (3 3/4 oz) package vanilla instant pudding
4 eggs
1/2 cup cold water
1/2 cup dark rum (I think Bacardi is best)
1/2 cup vegtable oil
Rum Glaze (recipefollows)8

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease and flour a 10 inch bundt pan.Spread chopped walnuts evenly over bottom of pan.

Mix cake mix, pudding, eggs, water, rum and oil until smooth. Pour into prepared pan.

Bake 1 hour. Cool in pan for 25 minutes.

Invert onto a serving plate. Prick top. Spoon and brush with Rum glaze evenly over cake, allowing cake to absorb the glaze.

RUM GLAZE

1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
1/4 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup rum

Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in water and sugar. Boil 5 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in rum.
