Recipe(tried): Seasoned Bread Crumbs

Herbs and Spices
Hi Karen,

I was just reading all the postings about those breadcrumbs. You know, I make my own instead of buying it at the grocers.

Save all your old Italian or French bread, rolls, etc. Or just buy a loaf for 99 cents and let it get stale. Then I put it in chunks in the food processor and give it a good pulse till it is fine crumbs, pour them into a lare bowl and then I mix into it the following:

1 T. garlic powder
1 T. Italian Seasonings
1 T. basil
1/2 c. grated parmesan
1 T. paprika
1/2 t. marjoram
1/2 t. thyme
1 t. rosemary
1/4 t. red pepper flakes
1 t. salt
1 t. black pepper

Mix it well with a spoon and then I freeze it in quart freezer baggies. It is always fresh and much better tasting than store bought!!

Good Luck! Gina
