Recipe: Sesame Chicken Strips (grilled or broiled on skewers)

Appetizers and Snacks
SESAME CHICKEN STRIPS

"Chinese hoisin sauce makes a terrific basting sauce for grilled chicken, but it can burn if cooked too long."

1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut lengthwise into 3/4-inch strips
3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 teaspoon chopped garlic
1 1/2 teaspoons sesame seeds

Prepare medium-hot fire in barbecue grill or heat broiler.

Thread chicken strips onto small metal skewers or bamboo skewers (if using bamboo skewers, soak in water 30 minutes).

Combine hoisin sauce, vinegar and garlic. Brush sauce over chicken. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, pressing into sauce.

Grill or broil 3-4 inches from heat 3 minutes. Turn chicken; grill about 3 minutes longer, until chicken is white throughout but still moist in center. Serve hot.
