Recipe: Sesame Garlic Bread (using sliced bread, TV Guide, 1970's)

SESAME GARLIC BREAD

1 (1 lb.) loaf unsliced white bread
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 clove garlic, mashed
2 tbsp. sesame seeds

Trim crusts from bread. Divide loaf into halves lengthwise, cutting not quite all the way through; cut crosswise into 5 equal pieces, cutting not quite all the way through. Place on a cookie sheet.

Mix butter and garlic. Brush bread with butter mixture and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Bake in preheated moderate oven (350 degrees F) 10 minutes or until brown and crusty.

Makes 6 servings
