Recipe: Homemade Steak Sauce

STEAK SAUCE
12 ripe tomatoes
6 medium cucumbers
4 large onions
1/3 c. salt
1 pt. vinegar
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. celery seed
1/2 tsp. curry powder
1/2 tsp. turmeric
Chop tomatoes, cucumber and onions. Sprinkle with salt
and let sit overnight. Drain. Boil other ingredients until it
thickens. Stir in 2 teaspoons flour mixed with a little water.
Cook 3 minutes longer, stirring often. Put in jars and seal.
STEAK SAUCE
12 hot peppers
8 onions
8 sweet peppers
Chop or blend. Add to:
2 (32 oz.) catsup
2 c. vinegar
2 c. sugar
1 c. oil
Bring mixture to boil. Put in jars and seal. Makes
approximately 10 pints.
STEAK SAUCE
1 (32 oz.) bottle ketchup
1 (10 or 12 oz.) bottle soy
sauce
1 stick butter
1 (10 or 12 oz.) bottle
Worcestershire sauce
1/2 c. vinegar
1 c. sugar
Mix well in saucepan; boil 5 minutes. Let simmer 10
minutes; cool and pour in empty bottles.
STEAK SAUCE
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
2 Tbsp. soy sauce
1/4 c. Heinz catsup
1/4 c. vinegar
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. Season-All
1 tsp. dry mustard
Put all into a large heavy pan. Bring to a boil. Stir
well. Reduce heat to medium and boil until it gets thick. Put
into a jar when cool and store in refrigerator tightly covered.
