SHANNON'S BAKED BEANS
"I have used this same recipe for baked beans for about four years," said Shannon. "I got it from a church cookbook and I always am assigned the baked beans because everyone loves them!"
1 pound ground beef
1 large yellow onion, chopped fine
1 green bell pepper, chopped fine
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1/4 cup brown sugar
3 drops of liquid smoke
2 tablespoons mustard
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cans (15 ounces each) pork and beans
Brown ground beef; when it is almost done add the onion and green pepper.
Add remaining ingredients and either simmer on stove 20-30 minutes or put into crock pot and cook, covered, on LOW for 1-2 hours. (I prefer the crock pot method.)
