SODA POP CAKE
1 can any kind of soda
1 package any kind of cake mix
1 (3 oz) pkg jello (any flavor)
1 cup boiling water until
1 (4-serving size) pkg instant fat free/sugar free pudding (any flavor)
2 cups cold fat free or 1% milk
1/2 tub fat free frozen whipped topping, thawed
Add 1 can soda (instead of oil and eggs) to package of cake mix. Use electric mixer to beat ingredients together. (Batter will seem a bit thick.)
Bake cake according to directions on cake mix box.
Once cake has cooled off slightly, use a fork to poke holes all over surface of cake.
Mix gelatin with 1 cup boiling water until powder completely dissolves. Spoon liquid all over top of cake. Refrigerate cake until it is completely cooled off (1-2 hours).
Mix pudding mix with milk and whisk until smooth. Combine whipped topping with the pudding and spread on top of the cake for the frosting.
VARIATIONS:
Just a side note, a great flavor combination is:
lemon-lime soda with white or yellow cake mix; strawberry flavored gelatin, vanilla or cheesecake flavored pudding
I love this recipe because you can try an unlimited amount of flavor variations to find something that suits you.
I've been wanting to try mixing root beer with chocolate cake mix just to see how it tastes.
ENJOY!!
