Recipe(tried): Sour cream lemon pie

this isn't exactly the marie callendar pie, but it is a good double and so good

2/3 cup granulated sugar
3 tabl cornstarch
1 cup milk
3 lg egg yolks
1 tsp lemon peel, finely grated
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup margarine or butter, in sm pieces
1 cup sour cream
1 9" pie shell, cooked & cooled


mix sugar and cornstarch in med. pan. Whisk in milk until smooth, add egg yolks til blended. Stir in peel and lemon juice. Add butter and whisk over medium heat 5 to 7 minutes, just until boiling. Remove from heat and stir for 1 minute longer. Cover w/plastic wrap to keep skin from forming. Cool to room temperature. Stir in sour cream until well blended. pour into pie shell, cover loosely and refrigerate 6 hours until set, or up to 2 days
