Recipe: South-of-the-Border Stack-Up (using tortillas and ground beef, 1970)

Main Dishes - Beef and Other Meats
SOUTH-OF-THE-BORDER STACK-UP

1 lb. ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1 pkg. Kraft Chili Seasoning Mix
2 8-oz. cans tomato sauce
12 tortillas
2 cups (8 oz.) shredded sharp natural Cheddar cheese

Brown meat.

Add onion; cook until tender.

Stir in seasoning mix and tomato sauce. Simmer 10 minutes.

Layer tortillas, meat sauce and cheese in two stacks using 6 tortillas in each. Place in 12x8-inch baking dish. Cover tightly with foil.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes.

Place one stack on top of the other for serving, if desired.

Makes 4 to 6 servings
